Enrollment Basics
  • Students must obtain a Kansas Instructional Permit through the Kansas Department of Vehicles (DMV) prior to participating in the online Driver's Education course.
  • Students must attend ONE orientation session with the Virtual Education staff.
  • Students will use the Blue Valley student email to correspond with the online instructors and staff.
  • Students are required to attend a proctored final exam.
Online Course Work
  • Students must obtain a score of 80% or higher on all online assignments and quizzes.
  • Students who do not receive an 80% or higher must revise the assignment and resubmit for a grade.
  • Students who do not receive an 80% or higher on the online quizzes must complete the test until a score of 80% or higher is obtained.
Driving Schedule
  • Students are required to drive a minimum of 4 hours with a certified driver's education instructor. Students who are unable to master the driving skills assessment within the allotted 4 hour timeframe will be required to complete additional driving hours. The certified driver's education instructor will determine the amount of additional required driving. A fee of $100.00 will be assessed for any additional driving requirements.
  • Students enrolled in the fall semester of the online driver's education course must be available to drive during the months of August and September.
  • Students enrolled in the fall semester of the online driver's education course must be available to drive during the months of January and February.
  • Students enrolled in the summer semester of the online driver's education course must be available to drive during the month of June.
  • Students must complete all of the instructional driving time before completing the online final exam.
Course Completion
  • Students must receive a score of 80% or higher in all online activities.
  • Students must successfully complete the required driving assessment.
  • Students receive a pass/fail grade for the online Driver's Education course.
